ARTICLE - Basic Functionalities

In this short article we will review the basic functionalities to navigate the viewers of the simulator (windowing, zooming, panning, scrolling)

  1. Scroll through image stacks:
    1. Click the arrows (< and >) next to the image stack you want to scroll through.
  2. Zoom in/out:
    1. You will need to hold down the control and scroll in and out with the wheel of your mouse. 
    2. If you are lost in the zooming, double click to go to the original position. 
  1. Pan around: 
    1. You will need to hold down the control and left button mouse click and drag around to pan your image.
    2. If you are lost in the panning, double click to go to the original position. 
  2. Change the Window/Level for Contrast on an Image
    1. You will need to hold down the control and Alt/Option buttons (depending if on a Mac or on a Windows) at the same time, along with using your Arrow Keys side to side (grey levelling - windowing) and up and down (black and white contrast levelling - contrast). 
    2. Alternatively to the arrow keys, you can also Control + Alt/Option buttons and right button mouse click and drag right/left (windowing) or up/down (contrast)
    3. There is no reset button to revert back to original.

Some Basic Commands to memorise

Scroll – Mouse or Arrow

Zoom – Control + Scroll

Pan – Control + Left Mouse Drag

Window/Level (iOS - Macbook) – Control & Option + Arrow Keys/Right Mouse click & drag.

Window/Level (Windows - Laptop) Control & Alt + Arrow Keys/Right Mouse click & drag.

Reset – Double Left Mouse Click
