ARTICLE - How to scan different body parts?

In this short article we will explain how to use the isocentre tool to move within a total body model, in the area of interest.

Start laboration

The second window will open to your 3 Viewing Screens.

  1. Tools – click on the drop-down arrow.

In the Isocenter tab, you will have two options: Whole Body and Regions.                        

  • Whole Body will allow you to choose specific areas
  • Regions will allow you to choose specific body parts

  • At this point you can choose the area you want to scan and Save it.
  • You will now have 3 new SCOUT Images in the area that you selected to scan. Place the new SCOUT Images in your viewers.

  • Add pulse sequences next
  • Under Standard Protocols, you can open the area you would like to scan. For instance, I will be scanning a Thoracic Spine.  You will notice, the standard protocols offer 3 new scouts for you to use and for your placement.

  • You can select the entire protocol or select specific sequences.
  • Add with position or Add without position: this choice will depend on if you want a quick start to the scan or if you want to set the sequence up yourself.        
  • Choose one, Add with position or Add without position
  • Close the pulse sequences box.
  • The Protocol then will load into your Pulse Sequence tray.

  • You can now set up each individual sequence.
